Learning that builds towards the future
An ambitious Secondary curriculum that helps pupils build knowledge, confidence and independence from Year 7 to Year 11.
At Trinity Secondary, pupils study a broad curriculum designed to build knowledge, skills and understanding over time.
From the foundations established in Year 7 to the increasing independence and specialisation of Key Stage 4, pupils are encouraged to think deeply, communicate confidently and develop the knowledge and habits they need for GCSEs and what comes next.

Curriculum by year group
Year 7, building strong foundations
Year 7 helps pupils make a confident start to Secondary learning. Pupils study a broad curriculum while becoming familiar with specialist teaching, subject vocabulary, independent learning and the habits needed for future study.
Year 8, deepening knowledge and confidence
Year 8 builds on the knowledge and skills developed in Year 7. Learning becomes increasingly demanding as pupils strengthen subject vocabulary, analysis, problem solving and their confidence in applying what they know.
Year 9, growing independence and GCSE readiness
Year 9 helps pupils grow in independence and readiness for Key Stage 4. Pupils work with increasingly complex ideas and develop the knowledge, vocabulary and study habits that prepare them for GCSE courses.
Year 10, beginning Key Stage 4
Year 10 marks the beginning of Key Stage 4. Pupils continue their core curriculum alongside more specialised GCSE and pathway learning, developing deeper knowledge and increasingly independent study habits.
Year 11, GCSEs and next steps
Year 11 brings together the knowledge and skills pupils have developed throughout Secondary. Pupils complete their courses, consolidate learning, prepare for examinations and make informed decisions about what comes next.
Beyond the curriculum
Learning at Trinity extends beyond individual subjects. Wider opportunities give pupils different ways to develop their interests, confidence, character and leadership while putting what they learn into practice.
