    Secondary Admissions

A caring and ambitious Secondary community where pupils are known, supported and challenged to aim high.

Choosing a Secondary school is an important decision. Families want to know that their child will be happy, safe, known and supported, while also being challenged academically and prepared well for the future.

At Trinity, ambition and belonging go together. Pupils join a community where strong relationships, high expectations, ambitious learning and wider opportunities help them grow in confidence, character and achievement.

Pupils join us from Trinity Primary and from many other primary schools. Every child is welcomed into the same Trinity community and supported to begin Year 7 with confidence.

Start your Trinity Secondary journey: visit the school, explore Year 7 transition, understand the admissions process and apply through your local authority.

    Why choose Trinity Secondary?

At Trinity Secondary, high expectations are combined with a deep sense of community and belonging. We want pupils to achieve well, develop strong character and feel proud of the young people they are becoming.

    Known and supported

Pupils are known as individuals and supported to feel part of the Trinity community. Family Groups, pastoral care, clear routines and positive relationships help pupils feel secure and ready to learn.

    Ambitious learning

Pupils follow an ambitious curriculum designed to build strong knowledge, confidence and independence. As they move through Secondary, they are prepared carefully for GCSE study and their future pathways.

    Character and opportunity

Secondary life offers pupils opportunities to discover interests, develop talents and take increasing responsibility through clubs, enrichment, leadership, sport, the arts, faith and wider school life.

Is Trinity the right fit for your child?

Choosing a school is personal. We encourage families to visit, ask questions and think carefully about what matters most for their child.

Trinity may be the right fit if you are looking for a school where:

    • pupils are known as individuals
    • high expectations are balanced with warmth and care
    • relationships, belonging and community matter
    • learning is ambitious and carefully developed from Year 7 to Year 11
    • pupils are supported carefully through the move into Secondary school
    • Christian values shape school life within an inclusive community
    • pupils are encouraged to grow in confidence, character and ambition

We would be pleased to welcome you so that you can experience Trinity Secondary for yourself.

    Visit Trinity Secondary

The best way to understand whether Trinity is the right fit for your child is to see the school in action.

A visit gives families the opportunity to meet staff, see pupils learning and experience the atmosphere and everyday life of Trinity Secondary.

    How to apply

Applications for Year 7 places are made through the local authority admissions process.

If you live in Lewisham, you should apply through Lewisham Council. If you live outside Lewisham, you should apply through your home local authority.

Parents and carers should name Trinity Church of England School on their Secondary school application if they would like their child to be considered for a Year 7 place.

    September 2027 entry

    Stage Expected date
    Applications open 1 September 2026
    Application deadline 31 October 2026

Families should always check the latest local authority admissions guidance for confirmed dates, deadlines and application arrangements.

    Supplementary Information Form

Some families may also need to complete a Supplementary Information Form as part of the admissions process.

Where this applies, the form is completed in addition to the local authority application and returned directly to Trinity. Families should read the current Admissions Policy and Supplementary Information Form guidance carefully before applying.

    Your journey into Trinity

Whether your child continues from Trinity Primary or joins us from another school, we want the move into Year 7 to feel welcoming, carefully planned and positive.

    Continuing from Trinity Primary

For pupils already at Trinity Primary, moving into Trinity Secondary is the next stage of one journey from Reception to Year 11.

The all through structure gives pupils continuity in values, relationships and expectations, while opening the door to specialist teaching, new subjects, wider opportunities and increasing independence.

Families should read the current Admissions Policy and contact the school if they have any questions about the transfer arrangements for Trinity Primary pupils.

    Joining from another primary school

Pupils joining Trinity from other primary schools are warmly welcomed into our community.

We understand that moving to Secondary school can feel exciting and unfamiliar, particularly for pupils joining without many friends from their current school.

Our transition programme gives pupils opportunities to meet staff and other children, become familiar with routines and begin building confidence before September.

    After your place is offered

Once your child has been offered a Year 7 place, we will share information to help your family prepare for September.

We gather relevant information from families and primary schools to help us understand pupils’ strengths, interests, learning and support needs before they arrive.

Pupils will also receive information about transition activities and practical arrangements for starting Year 7.

    Additional transition support

Where a pupil has additional needs, early transition planning helps us understand what support may be helpful before they start.

Families are encouraged to share relevant information with the school as early as possible so that appropriate conversations and planning can take place.

    In year admissions

Families looking for a place in Years 7 to 11 outside the normal Year 7 admissions round should apply through Lewisham Council’s in year admissions process.

If you are considering an in year place, you are welcome to contact the school to find out more about Trinity Secondary and discuss the next steps.

    Useful documents

Year 7 welcome information, transition forms and new starter documents will be shared with families once they are current and ready to use.
