Starting school is a big moment for every family. Choosing a Reception place is about finding a school where your child will be known, supported and encouraged to grow from the very beginning.
At Trinity, children begin their journey in a warm, nurturing and purposeful environment where care and high expectations go hand in hand. We want children to feel happy, secure and ready to learn, and parents and carers to feel confident about the start they have chosen.
Primary tours: tours take place every Thursday at 11.00am. Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to sign in.
Families choosing a Reception place want to know that their child will be happy, settled and given a strong start. At Trinity, those priorities belong together.
Children learn best when they feel safe, settled and understood. Staff take time to get to know each child, helping them build trust, confidence and a strong sense of belonging.
Reception combines structured teaching, purposeful play, exploration and language rich learning.
Children develop early reading, communication, vocabulary, writing, number understanding, independence and positive social skills.
Trinity is one school from Reception to Year 11. Children who begin with us in Reception can continue within the same school community as their confidence, character, friendships and ambition grow over time.
Ofsted recognised that: “Children in the early years make an excellent start to their education.”
Our Reception curriculum helps children build strong foundations for the years ahead. Children develop a love of stories, strengthen their language and vocabulary, build early reading, writing and mathematical understanding, and become increasingly confident and independent learners.
The best way to decide whether Trinity is the right fit for your child is to see the school in action.
A visit gives you the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of our Primary Phase, meet staff and find out more about Reception, learning and everyday school life.
Applications for Reception places at Trinity must be made through Lewisham Council.
Please use the Council’s school admissions service for the latest application information, admissions criteria, deadlines and to submit your application.
Our current Admissions Policy and related statutory information can be found on the Policies page.
Once your child has been offered and allocated a place at Trinity, we will help your family prepare for the start of Reception.
Families will receive information about the next steps, including any forms that need to be completed, transition information and practical arrangements for starting school.
These forms are for families whose child has already been offered and allocated a place at Trinity.
If you have a question about Reception or visiting Trinity Primary, please contact the Primary office.
